NWU files objection to revised Google book settlement

New York City - January 28: The NWU's objections to the revised Google Books settlement proposal were filed with the U.S. District court today by our pro bono counsel from the Fordham University Law School:
Brief on behalf of NWU, SFWA, and ASJA
Brief with exhibits, including the petition from Ursula K. Le Guin signed by over 360 individual authors

Other objections sent to the court today by Canadian authors
And the Open Book Alliance, of which the NWU is a member

Next steps:
Feb. 4: the U.S. Department of Justice will submit their opinion of the revised settlement proposal to the court
Feb. 18: hearing in New York (open to the public)
